Day One - En route to Glastonbury


After an early start we stopped in Monmouth to grab our picnic and headed down the Wye Valley towards Tintern Abbey. We stopped just before at Brockweir and sat on a seat overlooking the river while eating our salads.

Glastonbury next with a detour via Cheddar Gorge.




Parked the car and decided to head up Jacob's ladder, 274 steps to the top of the cliffs followed by a walk along the top. Fantastic views over Cheddar, Cheddar reservoir and Glastonbury Tor.

Day Eight - Glendurgan Gardens

Decided to get maximum benefit from our newly acquired National Trust membership and headed to Glendurgan Gardens which is about a twenty minute drive away. A walk through the gardens led to Durgan where this beautiful little beach was hidden away. Views across the Helford River Pretty cottages all around. Hmmm! This looks interesting, I wonder what's in there Lol! Smallest art gallery ever :) Back to Falmouth after the gardens to get caught in quite a shower!!!

Day Six - The end of the world and back again!

Not a great start to the day as the car battery was flat after being left for nearly 4 days so a call to Green Flag was needed. Two hours later and we're on the road to Land's End. Lindsey was surprised at how commercialised it was! Mandatory selfie in front of the signpost Westerly winds had stirred up a bit of a sea Heather across the moors leading up to Land's End was very pretty. After Land's End we headed to Marizion to park up and walk across the causeway to St Michael's Mount. It was a steep and rocky walk up to the castle but worth it for the views although the French equivalent definitely has so much more to offer! Hungry after the walk we headed to Porthleven for Fish and Chips. Looked to be a very pretty harbour town but sat in the harbour eating our tea when the rain came. A rush to the car to finish eating our tea and then headed home for a well deserved cup of tea and update the blog :)
